I stayed here on a pretty blustery Monday night in November, and fell in love with the place. Given the conditions, it was virtually empty with only a couple of sites occupied. This was good because some of the sites, especially in the RV loops, are a bit close together - and given the flora of the area they are mostly exposed. I stayed in A23 at the top of the tent loop. It was fairly isolated and only 100 yds walk to the beach. It was pitch black at night, and I could hear the surf from my tent. The only downside was the wind rattling the tent all night, but it *is* the beach.
Lots of space between sites.
The bathrooms and showers were clean, and potable water was readily available. The ranger was very friendly and helpful.
Great place to camp! We stayed in a camper for a few days loved it! Quick walk to beach! Amazing views!! Was very windy so we were lucky to be in camper the dunes helped hold back some wind but otherwise nice quite place and inexpensive!
Great camping at this facility bathroom facilities clean shower facilities clean we did a Boy Scout non-structured campout with troop 123 very windy this weekend but excellent I would have given it 5 stars but they had no electricity at the sites they only have two sites and have electricity the first two new the entrance
Level sites.
This is my favorite campground in OBX. It is very peaceful and on the beach w easy access to many places. The campground itself has all the necessary amenities. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The lady that helped us; Denise was great and very helpful. I recommend driving 30 min south and exploring Salvo and nearby...
Very quiet camp sites with no services.
I would stay here again. It might be a little less than 5 stars during the high season, but when I stayed it was perfect.
