All in all Kitty hawk surf shop needs new management new employees and a whole new perspective that there customers are the only reason they get to stand around and pretend to feel important in a mediocre surf shop. STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU STAY AWAY.

My kind of beach town surf shop. Something for everyone. Cashier was super plesant and friendly.
Staff was extremely rude. The young kids that worked there lack customer service training but it makes perfect sense when you realize the management that they have running the show. When we informed management of the inexperienced staff with lack of ability to answer a simple question or take my money to ride the electrical shark they have, they didn't seem to care. All in all the store has some great product and some basic deals on branded apparel. But any establishment that doesn't see the value and importance of their customers apparently doesn't need my money. To be honest, there are great shops all around obx and I'm almost certain they would appreciate your business and have the same product. Don't waste your time being treated like your not valued.
Extremely rude, condescending manager. This woman has no idea how to treat customers and desperately needs customer service training. We purchased a t-shirt here and came in with it (no receipt, but all tags still attached) to exchange for the exact same one in a different size and she REFUSED, telling us it would screw up her inventory. You could tell she loved the fact that she had the power to tell us no. Hopefully the owner of this store realizes that this woman is horrible to customers and to business. We were the ONLY PEOPLE in the store and had other purchases we were going to make, but we set them down after being treated so horrendously by this awful woman.
I liked Kitty hawk because there were multiple places to shop. Though some of the things are quite pricy, they had pretty good service and there were many things to keep as mementos for visits to the Outer Banks. I'd suggest you make a visit here if you plan to visit the Outer Banks.
However if your looking for remarkable service the McDonald's in kill devil hills stomps this surf shop and those folks are working for way less.
