But it gets the job done...and I feel like that's their aim. Given the limited OBX grocery options I don't think they've had much healthy competition in many years so they have very little reason to improve.
I've come to expect mediocrity from food lion. I've never been impressed by their offerings nor their customer service. Most employees seem to act as if you're in their way as your browse the aisles and some even seem to be borderline hostile towards the presence of customers.
HOWEVER, this is the nicest and most clean Food Lion I have stepped foot in. Everything is clean and the store stocks a lot of items that are better in a beach town than a typical Food Lion usually offers.
This Food Lion' the last in Nags Head south, beside the Mall, and behind Outback.. is and has, all the same as the other few on the beach, but I believe what sets it apart, is there are several full time ( or year round,) I should say..including Mrs.Barbara a manager, who goes above & beyond to assist and help you and not saying that the students who work here from overseas are not good, but well.. a majority either are hard to understand, rude by talking & laughing with there co-workers in a different language, while your being waited on.. which can rub a customer wrong, especially if they ignore someone or do not respond when I ask 'Them'... "how are you today? And cannot think of one who asked me, or would even respond.. but seeing the ones I know, who have shown themselves to be kind, respectful, and courtesy has made up for the rest... I do wish they had more selection if there is any of..steaks ex..,filet migion, ribeye.. just seems an item I can't find often or affordable. So I go to local grocer for that ..but my bargain bulk shop here. So keep up the good work, Mrs Barbara thank you as always.. for your patience is above all* and kindness always.. I'd shop over any other food lion on the beach, here .. just for the ones who work here and do it with a smile and helpful way! ☆
I'm from Raleigh and we have Food Lions near us and they are known to have cheap prices but not the cleanest stores IMHO.
So, if you want to "just get some groceries" then food lion will suit you well. If you want to "shop for groceries" or find a unique item for a recipe I'd suggest you look elsewhere.
Think they were out. Great store & location.
Clean, well organized, staff was friendly and helpful and knew the store well. Tends to be crowded on summer weekends but otherwise not super busy. Always plenty of open registers so checkout is fast.
We went to this store a bunch and loved it!
Very nice. It's been years since I've been in a Food Lion. We got everything we needed. Only 1 item we couldn't get. A veggie tray
