My twin boys did this course last year and loved it. I decided to get in shape enough to try it for my birthday this year and it was a blast!! The staff was so nice and informative during the pre-course instruction and the on course instructors were so much fun and very encouraging. My boys are 14 and I"m 55 years old. Although younger kids can do it, my boys found the Category 4 & 5 (the top course) much easier this year because their legs are arms were longer and stronger. I could not make it through the back course on top but the others were manageable. My incentive to get stronger for next time. We will be back next year!
My husband and 3 children (ages 16,15 and 11) loved this place. 2 of the 3 said it was the favorite thing the did while vacationing in the Outer Banks. They all thought it fun and the people working there were very encouraging and gave lots of good advice on how to get though some of the more challenging obstacles.
So we'll worth going!! Overcame my fear of heights and had a blast doing it. Staff is so awesome. My son froze on one of the courses and they came out and talked him through it. It's definitely a work out physically and mentally as it gets hard the farther up the levels you go. I am so glad I did it and can't wait til the next time.
At this point, I'm just disappointed and surprised at the lack of customer service and coverup of a less than thrilled customer.
We had the best time! Five of my adult kids treated me as a Morhers Day gift to this fun time together! We did it all because we had great guides who coached us to enjoy the challenge! So grateful for memories built on the course! Worth it!
Their answering machine says very clearly that they are "open EVERY day" and there is a post on their Facebook that shows a picture of someone in rain gear that they are "open rain or shine". They also blocked me from adding any more comments or reviews to their page.
I hate giving this place less than 5 stars because I have loved it the last few years I have gone! Unfortunately, I drove 30 minutes from Duck the other day only to find out that they were closed. There was no sign on the door, and no message on their answering machine. I posted on their Facebook after realizing I should have checked there first and explained my situation. They deleted my comment, despite the respectful complaint I posed.
