It's not new (I believe 1972), but it is well kept. Staff are very cordial. Atmosphere is very casual, with the same families visiting for generations on the same weeks or holidays. For example, met three families that have been staying for 4th of July week for 35 years. One piece of advice: recommend upper floors for better view and less humidity in the rooms.
Air conditioner noise is high.
Amazing experience. The hotel is quaint and charming. Access to the beach is a few footsteps away. We could view the beach and sunrise from our balcony. They add a lot of little touches to make it pleasant for all. Location was perfect to walk and drive to anything you could possibly need or want. We plan to return to this hotel next year.
Rooms rates are reasonable.
Stayed here for 5 nights in July and it was perfect for our family of 4. The pool was never busy and the beach area at the motel wasn't crowded at all. Exactly what we were looking for. It's also near everything you need... grocery, activities, restaurants. Housekeeping was great. The grounds had a very cozy, backyard feel. Only negatives were the bed sizes and bathrooms, both were small. But we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again.
Love staying at the islander motel. This is my families 3rd year staying here. The rooms are always clean and the staff is always awesome and help anyway they can. Prices are very reasonable. We will continue to come back
No frills basic accommodation. Cleanliness I would rate at a 7 out of 10. Comfort a 6 out of 10.
